It sure is nice to hit it dead on once in a while!! ;0)
As for the quality of fish...Well I'll just say MI puts up some pretty spectacular genetics.
I'm sure there will be good times to be had on that river for a little while yet. Hoping to head over again for another day next week. Finger crossed!!!!
Good luck you you and your dad! Leave a few chromers for us friendly Canadians. ;0)

Blambtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523958127537407595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-28484367507863510712008-04-14T13:38:00.000-04:002008-04-14T13:38:00.000-04:00Ha ha Brian, I have made that round trip before an...Ha ha Brian, I have made that round trip before and it was the same outcome. One little secret though is that I pretty much forget OH in the spring and just focus on MI (BTW, I fished last weekend in the EXACT same spots for onesy twosy type fishing on the Big, what a difference a week makes!) as it is much more predictable and, as you and your bud have noticed, the quality is much greater;)

Nice work, I'll be cleaning up what you guys left for me this weekend with my pops. Great story and pictures as always.

TrevAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-43781553238323841102008-04-12T22:32:00.000-04:002008-04-12T22:32:00.000-04:00Wish you were there too G! It was one of those trips that will long be remembered.
The Highway miles were a little on the heavy side but went by reasonably quick considering. Made the sleep at the OI all that much better or was that the 5 beer?
The SR's were out in full force reminiscent of opener on the 9 mile but were well behaved. We put a little leg work in and found lots of elbow room and awesome water.
Have I ever said how much I love that place?lambtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523958127537407595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-24917921896281899002008-04-11T22:34:00.000-04:002008-04-11T22:34:00.000-04:00Thanks DAve, Seems there is high water everywhere...Thanks DAve, Seems there is high water everywhere the last few days.
Even your basement was blown ;0)
Sorry to hear that!

Off to FLA for a week with Heather and the girls but when I return I think we can work a few more adventures into this spring season.lambtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523958127537407595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-7059976267350347442008-04-11T22:00:00.000-04:002008-04-11T22:00:00.000-04:00What an amazing trip guys! I managed a few fish at each spot but it really wasn't what we expected or were after.
I wish we started out higher up in the North Reservation. It was much more scenic up that way.lambtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523958127537407595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-40194687074546896732008-04-11T19:42:00.000-04:002008-04-11T19:42:00.000-04:00I know that spot in the picture. I still think there are more fish that have yet to spawn.Greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02527088251061724468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-5958637177977658342008-04-11T08:10:00.000-04:002008-04-11T08:10:00.000-04:00Thanks HArv,Having been on the road the past coupl...Thanks HArv,

Having been on the road the past couple of days and flying out to FLA Saturday I'm spinning trying to get all my ducks in a row. It was quite the effort just getting the blog entry put together. Thanks for highlighting the events that I missed. That double header was epic and it truly was a shame that we did not capture an image of that chromer from the bottom end. What a battle indeed!!!
I'm thinking of bailing from work at noon today so if I have time I'll throw that ever so rare pic of me smiling up here. ;0)lambtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523958127537407595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36511780.post-6905531871654442332008-04-11T07:57:00.000-04:002008-04-11T07:57:00.000-04:00Another stellar journey indeed Brian. The link to Google Maps sure puts it all into prespective!!!!

Ohio sure can mess a guy up... you come to expect the big numbers from 'DisneyLand' and anything short of that leaves you dissapointed. And to top it off the "Ohio Curse" just exaggerates those feelings!

All in all Ohio was still enjoyable - hooking up with DJ and Jester and fishing some new and unique water is always cool....

BUT Michigan rocks!

There is absolutely something special about that State - scenery, atmosphere, quality fish and I even found the masses to be friendly and courteous...

Can't say enough about doing battle with BIG FRESH CHROME in that heavy water.

Although we did not beach either end, that crazy ass double header on our way back up to the car was memorable!! And my epic battle with that monster chrome hen ending pictureless as she flipped clear back into the main flow as I reached for the camera was bittersweet. I was hoping you would put up that picture of you kneeling through the stairs holding that chromer - your smile, the fish and the conditions were all brilliantly displayed in that one photo and pretty much sums up the day - priceless!!!

Awesome - until next time....

HArv

ps have a great trip to the real DisneyLand!!!!Harvhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14159681706669109137noreply@blogger.com
