Working for the Man

I haven’t fished for a few days. Actually 9 to be exact and there seems to be no end in sight. I am relegated to whoring myself out to the man all week and the weekend seems like it is weeks if not months away. Apparently I am useful and needed at work. It is nice to be recognized as a contributor but this time of the year it can really sting. I thought I was going to be alright with it but as the minutes pass the desire to escape proliferates.

I feel your pain Brian - today was in all likelyhood my last trip to the river this year as I leave for the far Eastern stretches of Ontario on Friday.

Just think of all the new gear you can buy with that extra $$. The mere thought of working a ton of OT the next couple weeks sent me to the store yesterday for new waders - I gotta say they are super comfy but the verdict is still out as to whether they are worth remortgaging my house for :(

The river is still in wicked shape - holding level and colour very nicely!!

Good luck in the coming weeks and if the conditions dictate, maybe we can hook up for a fish between Christmas and New Years..

cheers

Thanks for the sentiments Harv. I don't know if I should laugh or cry. With these uncertain times and the entire festive season on our doorstep I highly doubt I'll be treating myself to any fishing gear. Not that I am in dire need anyways. I did get a nice monetary "applause award" from work that I was considering dropping on a new G3 Simms wading jacket but everytime I look at the price my genitalia creep up into my body.
I hope to fish this weekend but who knows. If the man waves the green carrot in front of my face it will be hard to say no. Thankfully we have a 7 day rule where the 7th day must be taken off. ;0) Fish On...

Ah yes...Lakes of Muskoka Cottage Brewery's Organic Creame Ale brewed in the Heart of Muskoka in downtown Bracebridge. You know that is my favourite "downtown" in all of Ontario!
Their Honey Larger Rocks as well!
